About Us

Laying the foundations for our children to be confident, respectful and to achieve their potential.

Welcome to Our Family

I am delighted to welcome you to Sarratt C of E School, a small Primary school with a strong community ethos. We provide a caring and supportive environment where our children can feel happy and safe from Reception all the way through to Year 6.

Our aim is to allow every child to be the best that they can be. The curriculum, which is creative and diverse, enables all our children to flourish. We encourage them to take an active part in their own education and develop the skills that they need for independent learning and life in the 21st Century.

Above all we want our children to feel safe, to be happy and to become confident and enthusiastic learners

Naturally, the children are at the heart of our community. The staff and governors work with families to ensure that each child receives a well-rounded education with excellent pastoral care.

We encourage high standards of learning and behavior, both in and out of school, and we’re proud to say our children respond enthusiastically and courteously at every opportunity.

We are extremely lucky to be located in such beautiful part of the world.

Our school is situated just off The Green in the thriving village of Sarratt, set in the midst of an area of outstanding natural beauty. We have a proud history dating back over 150 years.

The original school opened in 1862 in an old flint building on Church Lane just off The Green, now a private house.
The school as we know it today was opened in 1958 with just two classrooms serving the families of the village. Our well-maintained grounds and accessibility to an abundance of local green spaces are a real bonus.

We incorporate this into our curriculum wherever we can, including trooping across the farmers fields to church in all weather!

The support and commitment of our staff team means that our children receive the best possible start to their education and are prepared for the challenges they will face in the modern world.

If you’d like to know more, or want to have a guided tour around the school, please contact the school office admin@sarratt.herts.sch.uk

We’d be delighted to hear from you.
