Since September 2014, school meals have been provided free for pupils in Reception and Years 1 & 2.

For all other pupils there is a school meal charge per day, speak to the school office for further information.

Packed Lunches

Children may bring packed lunches if they prefer. Please support our healthy eating policy. Children are not allowed to bring sweets to school.

Please cut up all grapes, tomatoes and blueberries into half length ways, due to the size and possible choking hazard.

We have a no nut policy in school, as some children are so highly allergic to nuts that they risk life-threatening reaction if they are in too close a proximity to nuts.

Please visit our policies page to view our school policy.

Free School Meals / Pupil Premium Funding

Universal Free School Meals

The Government announced that from September 2014 all infant pupils (reception, years 1 and 2) will be entitled to a free, nutritious school meal at lunchtime. This scheme is to help improve healthy eating and support children with the energy they need to concentrate in class throughout the day. Please let the office know if you wish for your child/children to have free school dinners.

Free School Meals

Please note, this is different to Universal Free School Meals (above) and applies to all children.

Your child is eligible for free school meals if you’re in receipt of one of the following benefits:

  • Universal Credit with an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guarantee element of Pension Credit
  • Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for the four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
  • Child Tax Credit (with no Working Tax Credit) with an annual income of no more than £16,190

Registering for free meals could also raise additional funds for the school to fund valuable support for your child, such as extra learning resources, financial assistance with extra curricular clubs and music lessons and subsidised educational visits.
