Admissions

Sarratt Church of England School is a one-form entry primary school for children aged 4 to 11 years. The standard admission number is 26 pupils per year group. Children attend school on a full time basis from the beginning of the academic year in which they turn five.

The Admissions Team at Herts County Council manages the school’s admissions policy.

Admission to Reception

During the academic year in which a child turns four, parents are invited to apply for a primary school place via the Herts County Council online application system, which normally opens mid-November and closes mid-January of each year. All applications are dealt with by the Hertfordshire County Council, using the admissions criteria detailed on their website.

Sarratt Church of England School does not have a nursery. However, Sarratt Ducklings Pre-School, which is housed on our Early Years site, provides a safe and happy learning environment for children from the age of 2 to 5 years. Ducklings are proud of their achievements and can offer your child:

  • A safe, secure and stimulating environment. Fun and friendship with children and adults.
  • Individual care and attention, made possible by the support of a personal Keyworker.
  • An opportunity to develop at his/her own pace, through a specially tailored curriculum.
  • Early reading and writing skills and recognition of numbers and number concepts.

Ducklings is registered with OFSTED under the 1989 Children Act and is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance. It is a non-profit making organisation and received charitable status in 1995 (Reg. Charity No. 1048712).
